Our hero, Billy, is a senior in college who has never really had a girlfriend.  Like most geeks in denial, he puts on a cynical facade and enjoys mocking other people’s happiness to pass the time.

Feeling like he needs to change his life, he finally decides to sign up for a trip to the beach, which his roommate Johnny warns him “is only for naive freshmen.” This turns out to be true, except of course for a beautiful girl he meets named Megan.

Billy is immediately smitten. And as he gets to know the girl through more of his planned accidental encounters, Billy falls deeper in love with her. But it starts to drive him a bit crazy not knowing how she really feels about him. That’s when his love-sick frustration begins to find its expression in his increasingly desperate dreams…
